Marinated Flank Steak

Great marinade for flank steak, also good for fajitas if you’d prefer. From Lone Star Austin Junior Forum (Mrs. Linden Welch).

Marinated Flank Steak

1 1/2 lbs flank steak
3/4 cup oil
2 tbsp wine vinegar
2 tbsp minced green onion
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 1/2 tsp ginger
1 clove garlic

You can easily reduce the amounts for smaller steaks. When I cook for myself, making between 1/4 and 1/2 pound of meat I reduce teh marinade to the following proportions:

1/3 cup oil
1 tbsp wine vinegar
1 tbsp minced green onion
1-2 tbsp honey
1-2 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp ginger
garlic

I usually don’t measure the honey, just a generous squeeze from the bottle. Same goes for the onion and garlic, I don’t always have fresh in the house, so I use a couple of shakes of garlic powder and onion flakes. Works well.

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and pour over meat in a marinating container. Marinate overnight for best flavor and make sure to rotate container or meat in the container to evenly coat.

For an indoor electric grill, cook the meat (1 1/2 lbs) for 3-4 minutes each side. For smaller pieces, try 2 minutes each side. Cut the meat diagonally.
