Pound Cake

I can’t believe I’m sharing this recipe. But it is so good that I am going to go ahead and share it. Pound cake is easy to mix, but warning, it takes a long time to bake. Prepare for at least an hour and a half to 2 and half hours baking time depending on climate and the pan you use. The outcome is worth it though.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake

Cream the following:

3 cups of granulated sugar
3 sticks of unsalted butter (softened)
8 ounces of cream cheese

Add 6 eggs, one at a time. Make sure each egg is fully incorporated before adding another.

Blend in:

3 cups of sifted all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons of vanilla extract

Butter and sugar a bundt or loaf pan. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees. May need to bake longer depending on the depth of the pan. Bake until a tester inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

 

Serving Tips:

I prefer to bake this recipe in a loaf pan, that way I can slice it into 3/4-1 inch slices and serve with seasonal fruits and fresh whipped cream. Or you can cut slices into strips and serve with assorted dipping sauces such as melted chocolate, cream, pureéd raspberries, etc.
